What does an Equis agent do?

An Equis agent provides middle-income America with protection for themselves, their families and their home in the form of life insurance. Agents provide a multitude of different products to their clients through Equis' carrier partners. Equis agents are independent contractors, owning their own business, creating their own schedule, and writing their own paycheck.

Are agents paid commission only?

Yes. Other than the bonuses paid by Equis, our agents make their living from commissions paid by our various insurance companies.

Is an insurance license required to work with Equis Financial?

Yes. Agents must have, or obtain, a life insurance license for the state(s) in which they would like to write business.

Are there any fees to join the Equis team?

No. And we are proud of that! At Equis, we are in the business of selling insurance. We view our agents as partners and want our agents to reach their full sales potential in a professional atmosphere. That is why we do not have any membership fees, special club fees, contract promotion fees, or training university fees.

Is insurance license required to work with Equis Financial?

Yes. The Insurance industry is highly regulated. All of our agents must have, or obtain, a life insurance producer’s license for the state in which they reside in order to write business.

How do I get my insurance license?

You can do all your state-required, pre-licensing studying online with ExamFX (in as little as 5 days!). To register for your licensing course with a heavily discounted rate, contact your direct upline manager. You will be required to take your license exam at a state approved facility. ExamFX will help you locate the testing facility nearest you.

Can I start part-time?

Yes! Many agents and managers start part-time before transitioning into a full-time career.

Who is going to train me?

You will receive training from numerous people. Your direct upline, regional manager, colleagues, and Equis executives will all help train you. Being an Equis agent gives you access to our Training Center that houses hundreds of training videos and documents, as well as a Virtual Training Platform with step-by-step instructions towards a successful virtual career. There are also daily training webinars Monday - Saturday.

Are agents paid by commission only?

Yes, agents are paid by commissions through our carrier partners on the products they sell. In addition, Equis also offers our agents and managers a monetary, monthly bonus for those who qualify.

How much can a new agent make?

An agent's income potential is based on their activity level, placement rates, and ability to assist clients. With the average policy paying out $700 - $1,000 in commission, we have many agents who make six-figures their first full-time year in the business with no prior experience.

Can an agent earn a higher compensation?

Absolutely. Agents have the opportunity to earn a higher compensation each month up to 120% based on their production! Agency managers have the opportunity to earn a higher compensation every 2 months up to 140% (a compensation that surpasses the industry standard) based on their agency’s production!

Are there opportunities for advancement into management?

Yes. The Equis System is designed to help facilitate growth and assist our agents in building their own agencies. In addition to the support of Equis' leaders, our comprehensive training platform features education designed to help train and support agents who would like to build an agency of any size.

Do I have to build an agency?

No. Being “The Agent’s Company” means that we support agents and managers in whichever direction they would like to take their business. Equis has developed a system for both personal producers and agency builders to develop a profitable business of their own.

What is a lead?

A lead is generated when someone sends in a request by mail, phone, or internet search engine for services that Equis agents can provide. This system prevents agents from making cold calls and ensures they always have potential clients to contact!

How many leads does the average agent need?

There is no set quantity of leads that every agent needs. The number of leads you will need is dependent on your personal goals and how much money you need to make in a given period.

Are there any fees to join the Equis team?

No. Equis provides industry leading technology, accessibility to leads, and training at no cost to our agents or managers.

Is an Equis agent considered a W-2 employee or 1099 worker?

When you join Equis, you join as a 1099 independent contractor.
