For one Equis Financial agent and Southwestern College alum, Grant Torgerson, the annual football golf tournament is more than a reunion—it’s a chance to reconnect with teammates and revisit an experience that helped shape who he is today.

As a former student-athlete, much of the traditional college experience was traded for a commitment to the team. That shared focus built lifelong relationships, and today, the tournament has become a meaningful way to reconnect with those teammates, even as they’ve spread across the country.
But the impact of that experience didn’t end at graduation.
Like many athletes, Grant faced the uncertainty of what comes next when the game is over. Now, he’s working to change that for future graduates—building relationships with Southwestern College’s business department to help create real career opportunities for student-athletes beyond the field.
That same commitment to giving back is reflected in how he continues to support the program:
“We had a new football facility built this year, and I was able to make a donation along with my former teammate/co-worker at Equis Financial, Caleb Cisneros, so we will have a locker dedicated to Equis Financial in the facility next year.”
Alongside fellow alumni, he’s helping turn connection into action—supporting the school’s growth while creating a stronger bridge between athletics and career paths.
What started as a personal transition is now focused on something bigger: opening doors, building connections, and helping the next generation move forward with confidence.
