10 Years of Equis: Chris Tinsman's Decade of Dedication

From the early days of Equis to today, Chris Tinsman has stayed true to the values that define our company. As one of the original agents who planted their flag with Equis back in 2015, her story reminds us why this company was built and what continues to make it special ten years later.

When Equis Financial launched in 2015, a group of agents took a leap of faith and staked their flag with a brand-new company built on transparency and core values. One of those agents was Chris Tinsman, who knew right away that she was in the right place.

“Working again with Barry Clarkson and Rob Jones — knowing that I would never again look over my shoulder worrying about what managers were doing behind me — it was the integrity factor that made the difference,” Chris shared.

Back then, the industry looked very different. But even in those early days, Chris could see that Equis wasn’t just another insurance company — it was a movement built for agents.

“Equis had more choices and options for the client,” she said. “But I’m not sure anything stood out more than the integrity aspect of knowing who I was going into business with.”

Those early years brought long hours, new systems, and plenty of learning moments — but for Chris, the best memories come from the people.

“I loved the people I worked with every day. They created Equis for the agents — they made us feel important again and didn’t take advantage of our hard work ethic.”

Now, ten years later, Chris continues to embody the same values that guided her from day one.

“Being with Equis has taught me to never give up, work hard, stick to the basics, and always stay humble,” he said. “There’s always more to learn, and if you do the right thing, you’ll be rewarded in more ways than just financially. The spiritual rewards are even greater — that’s what drives us every day.”

As for advice to anyone just starting their journey at Equis, Chris’s message is as straightforward as it is powerful:

“Stop nickel and diming your business to death. Jump in and give 100%. Never have a plan B. Love what you do, always bet on yourself, and look in the mirror every day — if you don’t like what you see, then change it.”

After a decade of growth and success, Chris’s story serves as a reminder as to why Equis was founded and proof that when you build your business on the right foundation, the rewards go beyond financial success.
